Local information about Paisley

Paisley is one of Scotland’s largest towns and is steeped in history. From the 12th century abbey to its famous shawls, the town has much to offer including a neo-classical arts centre, museum and the imposing Coats Memorial Baptist Church, with a 60-metre spire dominating the town’s skyline.

The nearby Gleniffer Braes Country Park offers lovely walks and spectacular views over the area. Paisley offers a wide range of local amenities with the Piazza and Paisley shopping centres and a large selection of local cafes, bars and restaurants.

The town has strong transport links with the M8 motorway running from the town and four rail stations providing services to other major localities, including Glasgow Prestwick International Airport. The train station also connects to ferry routes linking to Dunoon, Bute and Northern Ireland.
