The agents are delighted to be selected in the marketing of this immediately impressive and individually designed split level bungalow which occupies a simply breath-taking elevated position on the fringes of the village of Whiting Bay on the beautiful Isle of Arran on Ayrshires west coast. Mainslea is one of only a handful of individual properties set within this quiet and elevated part of the village, a short stroll from the golf course at Whiting Bay and featuring uninterrupted views of the sea to the front with a stunning mountain backdrop leading towards the spectacular Glenashdale Falls & Giants Graves. The property itself is both spacious and flexible in design with high specification finishes throughout. Careful consideration was given in the design stage to get the most from this beautiful location and the property is as impressive externally as it is internally set within almost a half acre plot with well stocked gardens, raised patio and plenty of driveway parking culminating in an integral double garage. The accommodation comprises of a large open plan kitchen family area, the real hub of the home with a stylish fitted kitchen including integrated appliances incorporating an Aga, additional oven, hob and fridge freezer. There is a large separate dining room to the rear and sun room at the side overlooking the gardens. Both the kitchen and dining room benefit from large sliding patio doors leading on to the raised patio perfectly taking advantage of the picturesque outlook. In all there are four bedrooms, three benefitting from en-suite facilities and built in wardrobes. There is also an additional family bathroom. One of the bedrooms is located on the lower level together with a useful utility room. The double garage has an up and over door and links directly with the house. The heating and hot water are powered by an oil fired central heating system and the property is fully double glazed. There are also roof mounted solar panels which generate a substantial annual income together with supplementing the day to day running of the utilities within the property, more details can be provided by the agents as required.
Mainslea is Located on the fringes of Whiting Bay, a beautiful and well served seaside village approximately 3 miles south of Lamlash and 7 miles from the ferry town of Brodick where you board the ferry to Ardrossan at regular times throughout the day. Caledonian MacBrayne also offer an additional service from Lochranza at the north end of Arran to Claonaig in Kintyre (Tarbert Loch Fyne in the winter). Arran, known as Scotland in miniature, features everything the discerning buyer could hope for; mountains, forests, beaches and glens. You can cycle around the island in a day and there are a number of beautiful golf courses to enjoy including Whiting Bay Golf Course located at the end of the road. You cant miss the iconic Goat Fell as you approach the island on the ferry, it is the islands biggest mountain and one of the most popular walks with spectacular views from the top. The wildlife on Arran is abundant with a chance to see seal colonies, eagles, basking sharks and over 100 species of birds. Theres plenty of history too with Brodick Castle offering a peek at the ancient seat of power or Lochranza Castle with its underground prison. You can also sample some of the finest cuisine at any of the countless restaurants, cafs and bars on the island or why not visit the local cheese factory or whisky distillery. The options are endless.
Entering Whiting Bay from the North (Lamlash) drive through the village past the Village Centre and turn right at the Coffee Pot (just after Felicity's Bar/Restaurant) and proceed up the hill. The road turns sharp right and then sharp left. Proceed up the hill past the small garage on the left hand side and then turn Right at the top of the hill onto Golf Course Road. (Do not go straight ahead up the single track road towards Glenashdale Falls). After approx. 200 yards turn right onto the un-adopted road where there is a small group of 6 houses. Mainslea is the last house on the left. The driveway is straight ahead.
Coming from the South (Kildonnan) turn left at the Coffee Pot and directions from there are the same.
